This animation cell punch is pneumatically powered. Each hole is punched by its own individual "power module".
This power module includes an air cylinder for punching power, a precision slide to guide the punch and the positive and
negative punches. This approach makes it possible to stack up an infinite number of these power modules in a row and
punch as many holes as required at once. If you punch lots of backgrounds you can have enough modules to punch all
of the holes at one time. If you then need to punch single sheet 12 field paper, you can "turn off" the extra punches to
save wear and tear. The punches themselves are standard, off the shelf punches commonly used in sheet metal
fabrication. The fact that they are standard punches means that they are easy to sharpen and when they wear out
completely, they are easy to replace.
The system shown has a "silent" compressor built into the base for customers that do not have a source of compressed
air available.
