Machine description/operation:This system is designed to provide quick changeover with no tools required for
most of the fasteners produced by this customer. This includes different head styles (socket head, twelve point, flat head
and protrusion head) and diameters from #8 to ½ inch in lengths ranging from approximately 1/4" to 2 " . The parts are
fed from the feeder bowl (feeder tooling is set by snapping a blank part to be run into the tooling) down a track into a set
of gripping fingers that insert the part between the wheels of the grinder. Depth of feed in of part is controlled by a large
hand knob and read off on an included dial indicator. This system makes the normally complicated depth of grind
adjustment for flush head fasteners a simple 2 step set up. The controls under the feeder bowl base switch the cycling of
the feeder system from sensing the position of the feed wheel when a cut out ejection is used to a switch on the automatic
head feed when that method is used. When wheels need to be changed or other maintenance is required, you loosen two
hand knobs and the entire feeding system can be swung out to the left side of the machine (the large tube at the lower
left is a hinge). The loader swings back to the original position and its location is insured by keys.
